When I use the smtp relay from the article you mentioned, I was blacklisted (I feel that is some sort of botnet/spyware maybe) multiple times, even after requesting to delist.

We chose to implement a tool called WPForms within our website that is an SMTP Service and allows for 'proper' SMTP relaying, and authenticating against O365.
