WebFeb 24, 2024 · Cabot's tragopan (Tragopan caboti) is a vulnerable pheasant, endemic to south-east China's dense montane (700–1,300 m altitude) forests. Research of their breeding ecology shows that, unlike all other pheasants, Tragopan species typically nest in trees, and their chicks are precocial (Zheng, 1987; Zheng, Zhao, Song, Liu, & Zhou, 1985).
